Freddie didn't always want to be a teacher. Her dream job, from before she could remember, was to be a concert pianist, but when she was in high school, through an unexpected tutoring session, she found that she enjoyed teaching others. So, an uncle of hers, her favorite uncle, suggested that she do both. Teach music. Freddie's independence made her want to pay for school on her own, even though that favorite uncle of hers had offered to foot the bill. But she figured out a way to pay her tuition, that didn't involve stripping or exchanging sexual favors. She held piano lessons for kids. Her uncle, however, had a helping hand in the students that came to her, a few of them being the children of people who worked for him, others being children of friends of his. He was determined to help make her dream come true.
Rose Point wasn't Freddie's alma mater, in fact, she'd never heard of it until her uncle suggested she apply. But apparently, her grandpa taught there.
Freddie never met him, he'd passed before she was born, all she knew was that he was a little on the crazy side. Her uncle told her why everyone thought he was crazy, he could see the spirits of those who had passed, a secret she'd long since believed was something only she ailed from. And like her, her grandpa tried to help where he could to get these spirits to crossover.
She's now in her second year as a teaching assistant in the music department, it being her first year at the university, and she thinks she may regret taking the position. Just before she had accepted it, she experienced something pretty horrific involving the spirit of her ex and she told herself to swear off helping them. All they did was make life harder for her, when all she tried to do was help.
However, it seems her swearing off will do her no good. She's noticed a few things that point to there being spirits around. If her piano playing by itself and her sheet music constantly being misplaced wasn't a sign, the chilling sensation of constantly being watched was. She's pretty sure she's got a stalker of the...deceased variety and they have a lot of friends, friends that Freddie just can't help.
